Retiring type: Former chief judge earns a royal sendoff at party

Hundreds of friends, ­colleagues, and well-­wishers turned out November 20 to say a fond farewell to ­Oakland County Circuit Judge Wendy Potts, who will retire from the bench late next month. The retirement party, which took place at Bloomfield Hills ­Country Club, served as a ­fitting salute to Judge Potts, who began her ­judicial career in 1997 when she accepted an appointment to the ­Oakland County Probate Court. A year later, she was ­appointed to the Circuit Court bench, where she has served with distinction for the past 20 years, including a six-year stint as chief judge. A past winner of the Champion of Justice Award from the State Bar of ­Michigan,
