Book Club

On Tuesday, Feb. 5, the Book Club of the Federal Bar Association, Eastern District of Michigan Chapter, discussed “Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City” by Matthew Desmond which won the Pulitzer Prize and was recognized by the New York Times as one of 2016’s “10 Best Books.” On hand to discuss the book at the Theodore Levin U.S. Courthouse in Detroit were (seated, l-r) Tim Devine, Book Club Co-Chair Andy Doctoroff, Rebecca Wiseman, and U.S. District Court Judge Avern Cohn; (standing) Book Club Co-Chair Dave Fink, J.R. Drabic, Book Club Co-Chair Erica Fitzgerald, Hank Moon, John Sier, Lindsey Demoss Long, U.S. District Court Judge Marianne Battani, and David Atallah.  The primary goal of the FBA Book Club is to facilitate an informal but elevated dialogue between the bench and the bar. The book club is non-partisan.
