Lipson Neilson opens firm in Colorado Springs

Lipson Neilson P.C. this week announced that it has opened an office in Colorado Springs. The new office will be run by seasoned attorneys Janeen Isaacson and Joseph Garin, both of whom are recognized nationwide for their work in the firm's core strengths of professional liability defense, discipline defense and litigation. Isaacson and Garin are both licensed to practice law in Colorado, as are other Lipson Neilson attorneys including the firm's co-founder Jeffrey Neilson.

The addition of the new Colorado Springs office enhances the firm's national footprint and prominence in the professional liability industry and strengthens the synergy of the firm's five offices located in Colorado Springs, Las Vegas and Reno, Phoenix, and Bloomfield Hills.

Isaacson has been a practicing litigator for more than 20 years. Prior to joining the firm, she spent eight years as a prosecutor for the Office of Bar Counsel, including serving as interim bar counsel. She prosecuted and obtained disbarments for the office's high profile and complex cases, including the case against an attorney who was ultimately convicted of stealing more than $10 million in client funds.

During her tenure, Isaacson served as lead counsel for more than 100 discipline trials. She participated in the investigation and prosecution of hundreds of other cases which were concluded without a formal hearing. Isaacson also handled dozens of appeals brought by respondents and was one of the few prosecutors to participate in oral argument for a discipline matter before the Nevada Supreme Court.

Throughout his career, Garin has defended more than 500 lawyers and law firms in Nevada, Michigan, Colorado, and Illinois including the completion of jury trials, arbitrations and appeals. Garin recently led a Lipson Neilson team that won a motion to dismiss and motion for attorney's fees in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Garin is rated AV-Preeminent by Martindale Hubbell and is currently Co-Chair of the Professional Liability Committee for the Claims & Litigation Management Alliance ("CLM"), an international organization with more than 25,000 members.
