Wayne Law holds rank as Best Value Law School

For the sixth consecutive year, Wayne State University Law School has been recognized as a Best Value Law School by The National Jurist and its sister publication, preLaw magazine.

Of the 58 law schools on the list for 2019, Wayne Law was the only Michigan law school included. The ranking is designed to recognize the law schools where graduates have excellent chances of passing the bar and getting a legal job without taking on a ton of debt, according to publication.

Criteria for selection includes ultimate bar pass rating and two-year pass rate, employment rate, tuition, cost of living and average student debt accumulation.
preLaw magazine also recognized Wayne Law among the top law schools in the category of Business Law.

Secretary of State offices to close  for Thanksgiving

All Secretary of State offices and the Office of the Great Seal will be closed Thursday, Nov. 28, Friday, Nov. 29, and Saturday, Nov. 30, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Most license plate types can be ordered or renewed online at ExpressSOS.com. Driver’s license permits and registrations for vehicles, motorcycles, snowmobiles or boats may be printed, allowing motorists to drive legally until they get their renewed driver’s license or plate and tab in the mail. Additionally, customers may order a duplicate registration or title, change their address and register to be an organ donor on the website.

The Department of State mails notices to motorists 45 days before their driver’s license or license plates expire to give them ample time to renew. Licenses and plates that expire on a day when state offices are closed, such as a holiday or weekend, can be renewed the following day without penalty.

License plate tabs also can be renewed at self-service kiosks, many of which are available around the clock. Visit the Branch Office Locator to find a Secretary of State kiosk near you.

With the exception of holidays, offices are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Smaller offices may close for the lunch hour. On Wednesdays, offices are open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. A few branch offices offer Saturday hours from 9 a.m. to noon. Check the Branch Office Locator at Michigan.gov/SOS for complete hours and services.
