Photo 1: The rule of law had its day May 12 during a special program held at the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center in downtown Detroit. The Wayne County Circuit Court and Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association co-hosted the Law Day program, which saw more than 300 Detroit public high school students participate in activities, according to Robert Colombo Jr., chief judge of the Circuit Court. Law Day is a national celebration held each May to mark the role of law in our society and to cultivate a deeper understanding of the legal profession. Program participants and organizers pictured (l-r) are Sarah Gale-Barbantini, Antoinette Porter, Prosecutor Kym Worthy, Chief Judge Robert Colombo Jr., and Tiffany Ellis.

Photo 2: Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy was the keynote speaker at the event, which offered students the opportunity to visit the courthouse, learn about legal careers, participate in mock oral arguments, and then enjoy lunch with 13 Circuit Court judges.
