Warner Norcross named to Best of the Best Top Midwest Law Firm list


Warner Norcross & Judd LLP has been ranked among the 2015 Best of the Best Top Midwest Law Firms by Midwest Real Estate News.

The 48 attorneys in the firm’s Real Estate Services, Real Estate Litigation and Economic Incentives groups were ranked among the top 10 firms of nearly 90 firms reviewed, based on the firm’s completion of 1,200 real estate transactions in 2014. The deals were completed in 13 states and included a broad range of transaction areas, including commercial, health care, industrial, condominium, retail, multifamily, student housing, and farm.

The Real Estate and Condominium practice groups are led by Melissa N. Collar, and offer a comprehensive slate of real estate services. The Economic Incentives Group is co-chaired by Jared T. Belka and John V. Byl. The group includes attorneys with expertise in environmental, real estate, tax, finance and administrative law who find and secure tax credits and financial incentives.

 

 

Clark Hill’s Ruga named Grand Rapids 2016 “Lawyer of the Year” for education law


Clark Hill PLC is pleased to announce the selection of Barbara A. Ruga as Grand Rapids, Michigan’s 2016 “Lawyer of the Year” in the area of Education Law in the 22nd Edition of The Best Lawyers in America. Only a single lawyer in each practice area in each community is honored as the Lawyer of the Year.

 Ruga is a member of the Education and Municipal Practice Group and Labor and Employment Law Practice Group. For more than 38 years, she has been advising and counseling public school districts on a wide variety of education, employment and labor relations issues. Ruga has extensive experience negotiating labor contracts in a context of scarce resources, has represented school boards in a wide range of contested matters before agencies and in courts. Ruga strongly believes in educating administrators on general compliance issues, to minimize legal risks; she advocates for prevention through education, specializing in school administrator training programs. Her passion is helping boards maximize scarce public resources towards their educational mission.
