Best Lawyers® names 13 Miller Canfield attorneys ‘Lawyers of the Year’


Miller Canfield announces that 13 of its lawyers have been named as leading practitioners in their practice areas by Best Lawyers® 2017.

Lawyers honored as “Lawyers of the Year” received high ratings in surveys, indicating the exceptional level of respect earned among their peers for their skill, integrity and professionalism.

Trent J. Taylor, in the Grand Rapids Miller Canfield office, was the Lawyer of the Year in Banking and Finance Law.

In Kalamazoo, Kurt McCamman was named in Litigation-Labor and Employment, and Kurt N. Sherwood in Employment Law-Management. In Lansing, Ronald W. Bloomberg was Lawyer of the Year in Natural Resources Law, and Douglas W. Crim in Environmental Law.

Other Miller Canfield attorneys named include, from Detroit, Lawrence M. Dudek (Litigation-Real Estate); Megan P. Norris (Employment Law-Management); Gregory A. Nowak (Tax Law), and Amanda Van Dusen (Public Finance Law); from Ann Arbor, Joseph M. Fazio (Litigation-Real Estate); Anthony J. Mavrinac (Banking/Finance Law); and Thomas C. O’Brien (Criminal Defense: General Practice); and from Troy, Brad B. Arbuckle (Securities/Capital Markets Law).

In addition, 113 Miller Canfield attorneys have been named as 2017 Best Lawyers in America®, with several reaching significant milestones of being named for 20, 25 or 30 years.

 

Joseph Infante named to ‘40 Under Forty’ list

Joseph Infante, a principal in Miller Canfield’s Grand Rapids office, has been named among Grand Rapids Business Journal’s “40 Under Forty.” 

Infante was selected as a business leader in the community, not only for his outstanding work in law, and in particular craft beverage law, but also for the outstanding work he does for Hospice of West Michigan. This year, he and his wife Niki co-chaired the successful premiere fundraiser, Hospice of Michigan Barley, BBQ & Beats, which raised nearly $250,000.

Grand Rapids Business Journal received a record number of 395 nominations. Infante will be profiled in a special magazine supplement in the Oct. 17, 2016, issue.
