State Bar Representative Assembly accepting award nominations


Nominations are being accepted for two State Bar of Michigan (SBM) Representative Assembly awards. The Michael Franck Award is given annually to an attorney who has made an outstanding contribution to the improvement of the legal profession. The Unsung Hero Award is presented to a lawyer who has exhibited the highest standards of practice and commitment for the benefit of others.

Miller Johnson Litigation Section welcomes Amy Murphy


Miller Johnson is pleased to welcome Amy E. Murphy as an Associate in the Grand Rapids office.

Before joining Miller Johnson, Murphy practiced for three years at Williams & Connolly LLP, a widely recognized litigation firm in Washington, D.C. She focused on complex civil and appellate cases and represented public and privately held companies, national and regional law firms, targets of government investigations, company executives, and private individuals. 

Murphy served as a law clerk to Hon. Anthony J. Scirica of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit from 2013 to 2014 and Hon. Richard D. Bennett of the United States District Court for the District of Maryland from 2012 to 2013.  She is currently admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and D.C.

Murphy is a proud graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, where she earned her law degree with honors in 2012 and was Editor-in-Chief of the Michigan Law Review.  She received a B.A. in English with honors from the University of Pennsylvania in 2009.
