Neil Youngdahl joins Varnum in its Grand Rapids office



May 25, 2018 – Neil Youngdahl, a recent graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, has joined Varnum’s Grand Rapids office.

Youngdahl served as a summer associate at Varnum in 2017.

He has also served as an extern for Michigan Supreme Court Justice Joan Larsen, who has now gone on to be a judge in the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit; and as an intern for the Hon. Robert Holmes Bell of the U.S. District Court – Western District of Michigan.

While attending law school at Michigan, Youngdahl served as a student attorney for the Community & Economic Development Clinic and as Articles Editor for the Michigan Journal of Environmental and Administrative Law. He was the recipient of a merit-based scholarship and participated in Henry M. Campbell Moot Court Competition. Youngdahl attended Alma College for his undergraduate degree where he received several academic honors and played varsity baseball.

As part of Varnum’s free agent program for new attorneys, Youngdahl will work in a variety of areas before committing to a specific area of law.

Beginning this fall, Youngdahl will serve a two-year judicial clerkship with the Hon. Sean F. Cox in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, returning to Varnum in 2020.
