County Clerk's office now accepts online marriage license applications

Couples are no longer required to come to the Mason Historical Courthouse or the Lansing Branch Office twice to obtain a marriage license. Two trips have been reduced to one, now that Ingham County Clerk Barb Byrum is accepting applications for marriage licenses through the County’s website.

“I am trying to make the office more accessible to residents of Ingham County,” Byrum said. “I look forward to offering even more online and customer-focused services in the future.”

Couples can now apply for their marriage license online at http://tinyurl.com/mz6vkyk.

Couples must then wait at least three days before coming into the Mason Historical Courthouse or Lansing Branch Office to pick up their license. The three-day waiting period is a Michigan statutory requirement, which can be waived by the County Clerk.
