Delaporte Law merges with Detroit education law firm Lusk Albertson

Lusk Albertson, a Detroit-based education law firm, announces its merger with school employment and labor law firm Delaporte Law. Eric Delaporte, founder of Delaporte Law in Lansing, has joined Lusk Albertson as a member. The combined firm will operate at Lusk Albertson PLC.

“Our merger with Delaporte Law provides enhanced knowledge and expertise to clients throughout Michigan. Eric’s considerable experience helping school districts navigate complex labor and employment matters will complement our ability to serve educational entities. His track record of success and commitment to advancing education is an ideal fit with our firm’s culture,” said Robert A. Lusk, CEO, Lusk Albertson.

For more than a decade, Delaporte has provided legal counsel to school districts on matters of labor and employment including compliance, student issues, contract negotiations, administrative disputes, and state and federal litigation matters. Prior to founding Delaporte Law, he was a partner at Thrun Law Firm.

In his new role at Lusk Albertson, Delaporte will continue to serve as a trusted advisor and counselor to school administrators and leaders to help them efficiently mitigate employment risks, manage compliance, and litigation.
