Work starts this week on I-96 BL (Cedar and Larch streets) in Lansing

Starting April 18, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) begins construction on I-96 Business Loop (Cedar and Larch streets) in Lansing. The project includes resurfacing Cedar and Larch streets between Lake Lansing Road and Pennsylvania Avenue, along with sidewalk ramp upgrades. The work will be done in stages to minimize the impact on motorist, residents and business owners.

This week, crews will begin work between Lake Lansing Road and Michigan Avenue. Work on the sidewalk ramps will begin first, with concrete pavement repairs and resurfacing of the North Street ramps to follow.

During construction, there will be single-lane closures in each direction along Cedar Street and Larch streets. The project will gap out work where the city of Lansing's Sewer Separation project (CSO) has already occurred.

For up-to-date information on this project, go to the list of statewide lane closures at www.michigan.gov/drive. Follow MDOT at www.twitter.com /MichiganDOT or www.facebook.com/MichiganDOT.

MDOT says: Construction work zones need your undivided attention.
