Jackson BPW names 'Person of Achievement'

Chamber's Angela Machnik honored

The members of the Michigan Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs, Inc. (BPW/Michigan) gathered in West Branch on Saturday, October 13, 2012 to recognize and honor women throughout the state as "persons of achievement.'

The Jackson BPW honored Angela Machnik as their Person of Achievement at that event. Machnik is the events coordinator at the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce and serves as secretary of the Jackson Business and Profession Women.

She and others from the state were recognized for their outstanding dedication to BPW and enthusiastic willingness to help others with their contributions to their communities. Other local members attending the event were Lisa Brook, Marj Longcore, Susan Murphy, and Shirley Zeller.

The Jackson BPW meets at noon on the second and fourth Tuesdays of every month at the Cascades Manor House. The mission of BPW is to achieve equity for all women in the workplace through advocacy, education and information. The vision of the organization is to create successful workplaces for women, their families, and employers.
