United Way to meet March 18

United Way of Jackson County will host its annual meeting, celebration and recognition event on Wednesday, March 18, starting at 5 p.m. in the Community Room at the Ella Sharp Museum, 3225 Fourth Street in Jackson.

"Celebrating the generosity of Jackson County residents, the commitment of volunteers and the meaningful work of our partners are the heart of this event," said Beth Shafer, Resource Development Director for UWJC.

This year's meeting will honor businesses and individuals for their support and engagement, as well as provide updates on the work of United Way and the Women's Leadership Council.

Keynote speaker is George Erickcek, a nationally recognized economist with the W.E. Upjohn Institute for Employment Research. Erickcek will offer insights on the recent United Way report on the ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) population.
