(PHOTO #1) The Resolution Center in Mt. Clemens recently held its 18th annual “Evening at the Movies” fundraiser, an event that benefits the center’s Dispute Resolution Program. The gathering at the MJR Marketplace theater complex in Sterling Heights also featured an awards ceremony during which the center’s Conflict Resolution Advocacy Award was bestowed upon the Macomb County Circuit Court’s Juvenile Division. On hand to accept the award was Brian Daniels (second from right), supervisor of the juvenile division’s intake department. He is pictured with (from left) John Kennedy, MCBA board member; Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Mary Chrzanowski; and Nicole Faulds. Craig Pappas, the center’s executive director, said Daniels and others in his division were honored for their work with the center through its Victim-Offender Mediation Program.

(PHOTO #2) Pictured are two mediators with The Resolution Center who also were in the spotlight that evening — Lory Valuet (left) and Nina Dodge Abrams. They were presented with Volunteer of the Year awards. Valuet is employed by Macomb County Community Mental Health and volunteers as mediator on various cases that come to the center. Abrams is an attorney who lives and works in Oakland County and serves on the State Bar’s ADR section but spends a good deal of time volunteering at  The Resolution Center.
