Lawyer Trust Accounts discussed at SBM seminar

The State Bar of Michigan will present “Lawyer Trust Accounts: Management Principles and Recordkeeping Resources” from 1:30-4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at Michigan State University College of Law in East Lansing.

The event will run from 1:30-4:15 p.m. and will be held in Castle Boardroom, Room 343, located at 368 Law College Building,  also known as 368 S. Shaw Lane.

The half-day seminar will feature presentations on how to ethically manage lawyer trust accounts and effectively use forms, checklists, and guidelines to perform recordkeeping responsibilities.

The seminar, which is open to lawyers and their staff, is an excellent opportunity for lawyers to receive practical information and resources to help them understand how to comply with Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.15 and 1.15A.

The registration fee is $50 for lawyers and $25 for non-lawyers. Payment and the completed registration form must be received by Friday, Sept. 30.

No “walk-in” registrations will be accepted.
