Judges, lawyers gather for Bench Bar Conference

Everything from speciality courts to the circuit court e-filing system to mediation and juvenile, civil and criminal law matters were up for discussion during the annual Bench Bar Conference sponsored by the Macomb County Bar Association. The daylong event featured speeches from the president of the State Bar of Michigan and area judges, court officials, juvenile referees and experts in Alternative Dispute Resolution. Among those on hand for the event were (left to right in photo above): Lisa Ellis, circuit court court services director; Julie Bovenschen, law library research attorney; Brian Nicholas, Friend of the Court referee; Macomb County Friend of the Court Lynn Davidson; Macomb County Circuit Court Chief Judge John Foster; Circuit Court Administrator Jennifer Phillips, John Nizol, law library research attorney; Nicole Faulds, juvenile court administrator; and Anthony June, circuit court communications and technology manager. The event at the Concorde Inn in Clinton Township also included an address by State Bar of Michigan President Brian Einhorn (center in photo to the left). He is pictured with Macomb County Bar Association President Julie Gatti and Thomas Rombach, who will succeed Einhorn this year as State Bar president.
