Goldman Sachs program recruiting for next cohort

Wayne State University’s Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program is accepting applications for its next cohort of small business owners.

Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses helps entrepreneurs create jobs and economic opportunity by providing them with education, financial capital and business support services. The curriculum focuses on practical business skills that can immediately be applied by business owners, including money and metrics, strategic growth, negotiation, marketing and employee management. The curriculum was designed by Babson College, the nation’s top-ranked entrepreneurship school.

“Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses is like an accelerated MBA program, focused on entrepreneurship, that will help you take your business to the next level,” says Camille Walker-Banks, director of 10,000 Small Businesses Detroit. “Our alumni are trained to strategically expand their businesses, and impact communities. They learn to grow from managers to CEOs of their businesses.”

Wayne State’s Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program has already graduated 100 local business owners, from café/retail proprietors, creative and lifestyle ventures, manufacturers and construction-related firms. Sixty-five percent of alumni reported increased revenues and 45 percent reported job creation within six months of graduating.

Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses is open to business owners or co-owners whose businesses have operated for at least two years and earned at least $100,000 in the most recent fiscal year. The application deadline for the next session is Monday, March 30. Sessions begin June 26.
