The Macomb County Bar Foundation History Book Club featured author Michael Ranville (left) during its recent discussion on Ranville’s book “To Strike at a King: The Turning Point in the McCarthy Witch-Hunts.” The book was made into the 2005 movie, “Good Night, and Good Luck,” starring George Clooney and Jeff Daniels. Ranville is pictured with (left to right) former State Sen. Alan Sanborn, Macomb Community College Vice President Dr. Casandra Ulbrich and former Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Kenneth Sanborn. Discussions are held monthly at the Barnes &?Noble book store in Shelby Township. The club was formed in 2013 to discuss books that focus on constitutional history, the Civil War, World Wars I and II, the courts and other significant historical events.
