Honoring veterans treatment court graduates

A ceremony was held recently in Mt. Clemens to pay tribute to a group of veterans who graduated from Macomb County County Court’s Veterans Treatment Court (VTC). The court is operated under a partnership between the circuit court, led by Judge Mark Switalski (sixth from right), and 41B District Court, led by Judge Carrie Fuca (center, standing in front of Switalski). Michigan Supreme Court Justice David Viviano (sixth from left), who served on the Macomb County Circuit Court bench until his appointment to the state’s highest court in 2013, was also on hand to celebrate the accomplishments of the graduates. Pictured with the judges at the ceremony at the Macomb County Administration Office are (from left) Kumar Palepu, assistant prosecuting attorney with the circuit court VTC team; Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham; Kara Jaquemain, district court VTC coordinator; Gail Pamukov-Miller, circuit court VTC defense counsel; Barbara Reyes with Veterans Justice Outreach at John Dingell VA Hospital; Ann Pytlowany, circuit court VTC coordinator; John Walus, mentor coordinator; Sherriee Detzler, district court VTC defense counsel; and William Bailey, Michigan Department of Corrections probation agent.
