Self-driving technology among topics at ABA conference

Self-driving technology, on-board cameras and other issues facing the commercial trucking industry will be key topics of discussion at the American Bar Association Transportation MegaConference XIII to be held March 8-10 in New Orleans. 

The conference keynote address will be delivered by Tracy Rosser, senior vice president for transportation for Walmart Stores, Inc., on Thursday, March 9, at 8:15 a.m. 

Rosser will speak on the state of the trucking industry and will provide insights and examine key issues facing the industry and the impact of litigation on the business.

A highlight of the conference will be a look at self-driving technology during a panel discussion titled “The Future Is Now: The State of Self-Driving Technology,” on Thursday, March 9. 

Moderator Brett A. Ross, a shareholder with Carr Allison in Birmingham, Ala., will engage in a conversation with Google’s self-driving car project Senior Counsel Anand Rao regarding the state of the technology, the future of automated vehicles and the anticipated impact of automation on the legal industry.
