Michigan high school, junior high, and elementary school students are encouraged to submit designs for the cover of the 2018 Michigan State of the State program contest, Gov. Rick Snyder announced recently.
Snyder will deliver his eighth and final State of the State address to a joint session of the Michigan Legislature in the state House Chambers on Tuesday, Jan. 23.
The winner of the student design contest will have the opportunity to meet Snyder and attend the address with one guest.
“This contest is a fantastic way for Michigan kids to showcase their talent and creativity,” Snyder said. “I encourage students of all skill levels to participate and I look forward to meeting the winner on January 23rd.”
Students can submit their designs through Friday, Jan. 5.
The winning design will be announced Friday, Jan. 12.
Contest entries should be sized to fit on a 5.5 inch x 8.5 inch cover.
On a separate page, students should include with their submission their name, phone number, address, and email address, as well as their parent or guardian’s name, phone number, address, and email address.
Students can submit their designs by email to SOTS@michigan.gov.
