ACEDS hosts annual networking event

The Detroit Chapter of The Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists (ACEDS) recently held its third annual Wine and Cheese Social at The Capital Grille in Troy. This year’s event featured special guest Thomas Gricks, managing director at Catalyst and an attorney in Pennsylvania. For the past several years, Gricks has devoted a substantial portion of his practice to E-Discovery, with a particular emphasis on technology-assisted review. He argued the Global Aerospace case before the Circuit Court in Loudoun County, Va., which is the first case to permit the use of technology-assisted review over the objection of the opposing party. Attendees enjoyed the opportunity to meet Gricks, as well as to socialize and network with industry colleagues while enjoying a fine selection of wines and cheeses. Among those attending were (left to right): B. Jay Yelton, of Warner Norcross & Judd; attorney Ingrid Evert; Denise Bach, vice president of Stroz Friedberg; Penny Jones, senior technical trainer, Harness Dickey & Pierce; Thomas Gricks; Phillip Shane, of Miller Canfield; Scott Petz, of Dickinson Wright; and Barbara Bennett, litigation support, FCA.
