Fruitport festival celebrates 'old-fashioned' 150-year-old city

Fruitport is now 150 years old, but the small-town values it holds dear are timeless.

Nowhere is that clearer than at the nearly-week-long Old Fashioned Days festival, put on by the Fruitport Lions Club.

There are so many activities that it is hard to keep track, but certainly the fireworks and parade on Memorial Day are among the best. And who can forget the Whispering Pines Animal Kingdom and Petting Zoo, or the race, or the free performances by Big Cadillac, Two Headed Chan and the Kathy Ford Band?
