The sand lot behind the Western Avenue Market chalets turned into an archaeological site last Saturday in an event oddly reminiscent of an Easter Egg Hunt.
The City of Muskegon sponsored a “dig” for dinosaur eggs they had hidden, with a new flight every half hour between 11 and 2. Participating children and their adults opened up the eggs for prizes, but any child lucky enough to find a golden egg received an assortment of larger toys.
The Dinosaur Dig drew people downtown along with the popular splash pad, activities at the Farmers’ Market, and the chalets themselves on a day that was beautifully warm, though windy.
