New citizens get sworn in

The Immigration Law Clinic of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law conducted a citizenship ceremony on Friday, Jan. 21, at the International Institute in Detroit. 

U.S. District Court Judge Denise Page Hood, Eastern District of Michigan, presided over the ceremony.  UDM Law Professor David Koelsch led the Pledge of Allegiance during the ceremony.  Koelsch is director of the Immigration Law Clinic.

Nearly 80 people were sworn in as U.S. citizens during the ceremony.
