People's Law School program for 2011 ends its 33rd successful year

For the 33rd year, the Michigan Association for Justice (MAJ) conducted its People's Law School (PLS) program around the state.

This fall there were two PLS programs: the Lansing PLS in cooperation with the Sinas Dramis Law Firm and Thomas Cooley Law School, and the Northern Michigan PLS with Pence & Numinen and Northern Michigan University in Marquette.

In Lansing, the 190 seat venue at Thomas Cooley Law School was filled to capacity and the program registration closed a week prior to the first session on Sept. 6. The seven week session featured lectures from Cooley professors as well as legal experts from Sinas Dramis and the Lansing area.

In Marquette, the 8-week session at the U.S. Federal Courthouse was also filed to capacity. The Pence & Numinen firm provided the motive power and lectures were conducted by attorneys from that firm as well as local judges and other experts.

Started by MAJ in 1978, more than 450 People's Law School programs have been conducted all over the state.
