The Oakland County Employment Diversity Council (OCEDC) sponsored the 10th Annual Workplace Diversity Forum Women in Leadership Summit on Friday, Feb. 10, at the Auburn Hills Marriott Pontiac.

The keynote address was given by Michigan Secretary of State Ruth Johnson.

Johnson explored the forum’s theme of “Women Leaders: Setting New Standards, Reaching New Heights” in her keynote address.

She spoke about her leadership philosophy and shared state of Michigan resources with participants.

“I’m so pleased to be here, back with my friends from Oakland County,” noted Johnson who formerly served as Oakland County Clerk/Register of Deeds.

“We’re so proud of the employees and the elected officials that are here today,” said Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Denise Langford Morris (forum moderator).

“We have a lot to say about helping women—discussing their strategies, their reflections, their tips, their thoughts on being active in the workplace and balancing work and life at home and everywhere.”
