The program is a project of the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association Foundation in cooperation with the Third Judicial Circuit of Michigan and the Michigan Department of Human Services.
It was an evening of live music in one of Detroit's most popular venues and a chance to enjoy a strolling supper and an open beer and wine bar while and gathering with friends old and new.
The event also marked the launching of “Play It Forward!,” a new signature program in conjunction with The Lesson Rooms in Royal Oak to provide free music lessons and instruments to foster children.
“The hope of the For the Seventh Generation is to recognize that our children should not just survive while in foster care, they need to thrive,” said co-founder Kelly Ramsey, “and the enrichment and services that For the Seventh Generation can provide is doing just that.”
