On Friday, Sept. 14, the Oakland County Circuit and Probate Courts hosted a Constitution Day program to commemorate the historical day the U.S. Constitution was signed on Sept. 17, 1787.

Nearly 250 students from eight different Wayne and Oakland County schools attended the event which began in the Oakland County Commissioners Auditorium.

Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Michael Warren addressed the students during the program.  As co-founder of Patriot Week, Warren was pleased to take part in the Constitution Day event which echoes the goal of Patriot Week (Sept. 11-17): to reinvigorate the appreciation and understanding of the First Principles—the rule of law, unalienable rights, equality, the Social Compact, limited government, and revolution—upon which the nation’s freedoms rest.
