Man charged in chase that injured local officer

SOUTHFIELD (AP) -- A 24-year-old Detroit man is charged with fleeing from police and several weapons violations following a high-speed chase that injured a suburban officer. James Bracy was arraigned last Friday in Southfield District Court. Police say in a release that officers responding last Thursday to a report of a man with a gun chased the suspect after he drove away from a Southfield restaurant, about four miles north of Detroit. The suspect crashed into a parked Beverly Hills Public Safety vehicle several miles away. The officer in the vehicle was injured. Bracy was ordered held in the Oakland County Jail on a $1 million bond. A preliminary examination is scheduled for Oct. 15. Published: Tue, Oct 9, 2012
