Speaking on integrity

Judge Angela Sherigan (second from left), associate judge for the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians in Manistee, Mich., spoke during Cooley Law School’s Integrity in Our Communities speaker series on Wednesday, June 26.

Happy to welcome Sherigan to the Auburn Hills campus were (left to right) acting Associate Dean Lisa Halushka, acting Assistant Dean Frank Aiello, and Ieisha Evans, assistant director of Cooley’s Center for Ethics, Service, and Professionalism.

“Today I’m going to be talking about professionalism and ethics, inside and outside the courtroom—how what you do outside of the courtroom is just as important as how you behave inside of the courtroom including how you deal with clients, how you deal with the public,” Sherigan said.

Sherigan was named a 2013 Leader in the Law by Michigan Lawyers Weekly and was a 2012 Legal Services Corporation honoree for her pro bono work with Michigan Indian Legal Services, Inc.

She is a past president of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, a dedicated volunteer with the Michigan Anishinaabek Cultural Preservation and Repatriation Alliance, and managing partner of Wojnecka & Sherigan in Macomb County.
