Wayne Law charity conducts 28th annual Ambulance Chase

Runners and walkers should lace up their shoes and get ready for the 28th annual Ambulance Chase Charity Run/Walk at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, at Wayne State University Law School.

The event, sponsored by the Wayne Law Student Bar Association Board of Governors, helps support that group and also benefits Cass Community Social Services, a Detroit charity helping those in need. Participants (typically about 250) actually chase an ambulance, poking fun at the stereotype of the ambulance-chasing lawyer.

The course—three laps around the campus, roughly 5 kilometers or 2.2 miles—is run entirely on sidewalks starting at the law school, 471 W. Palmer St. The cost of the event is $25, which includes a T-shirt and a post-race barbecue dinner.

Register online at go.wayne.edu/ambulancechase.

Race headquarters will be inside the law school’s main entrance at the Spencer M. Partrich Auditorium, where participants can check in starting at 4 p.m. on race day and pick up their packets.

Race day registrants are not guaranteed T-shirts.

For those who opt to run instead of walk, finish times will be recorded and posted immediately after the race by Everal Race Management.
