Shopper who slipped on grapes loses appeal

HOWELL, Mich. (AP) -- A dispute between Meijer and a shopper is a reminder to watch your step in the fruit aisle. The Michigan appeals court has affirmed a decision to throw out a lawsuit filed by Nancy Duncan, who said she was injured when she slipped on grapes at a Livingston County Meijer store. Duncan says Meijer should have known there were grapes on a floor mat in front of the fruit display. She says some were brown, a suggestion they had been on the ground awhile. But the appeals court this week said it's also possible that the grapes were brown before they hit the ground. Published: Fri, Nov 15, 2013
