Hearing on voting rights to be conducted Jan. 9

The National Commission on Voting Rights is hosting its Michigan hearing on Thursday, Jan. 9, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Spencer M. Partrich Auditorium of Wayne State University Law School, 471 W. Palmer Street in Detroit. The commission is holding hearings across the country to learn more about the current landscape of elections. Over the past few years, numerous states have enacted restrictive voting laws, while many others continue to grapple with recurring election administration and electoral reform challenges. Sue Smith, president of the League of Women Voters of Michigan, will be speaking as a panelist. The public is invited to attend and speak. Register online at MIHearing.lawyerscommittee.org.
