Young Lawyers Section to host 7th Annual Summit

The Young Lawyers Section (YLS) of the State Bar of Michigan will host its 7th Annual Summit at the Radisson Hotel Lansing at the Capitol on Friday and Saturday, May 30-31.

Michigan Supreme Court Justice David Viviano will serve as the 2014 Summit Keynote Speaker. The 2014 Regeana Myrick Outstanding Young Lawyer Award will also be presented during Saturday’s luncheon at the Summit.

The Young Lawyers Summit is the annual section-wide gathering of the members of the YLS, which is the second largest section of the State Bar with approximately 8,000 members. The Summit has been held at numerous venues across the State of Michigan and we are pleased to bring the Summit to Lansing in 2014.

The YLS plans to continue the Summit tradition of providing networking opportunities for young lawyers, including a trip to watch the Lansing Lugnuts from The Clubhouse at Cooley Law School Stadium on Friday and a Saturday evening reception with live entertainment at Troppo in Lansing.  Saturday will be filled with a variety of educational programming prepared in partnership with several other sections of the State Bar, including the Criminal Law, Negligence Law, Family Law, Health Care Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution Section, and International Law Sections.

For the Lansing Lugnuts game on Friday, the number of available tickets is limited and attendees must reserve tickets with their registration. Tickets will be distributed at 6 p.m. on May 30th in the Radisson Hotel lobby. The YLS group will depart for the ballpark at 6:30 p.m.

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Radisson Hotel Lansing at the Capitol at a special rate of $124.95/night for Summit attendees. Reservations at the special rate can be made via the following website: www.radisson.com/lansingmi. Mention promotional code “YLS514” to obtain the Summit rate.

The Summit registration fee is $60 for section members and $45 for member guests. Register online or the mail/fax form can be found at http://e.michbar.org.  Visit http://michbar.org/younglawyers/news.cfm and http://www.facebook.com/sbmyls for additional information.
