Women in Leadership Summit to feature CEO, Jewish historian

Nipa Shah, founder & CEO of Jenesys Group LLC, will be the keynote speaker at the 12th Annual Workplace Diversity Forum - Women in Leadership Summit. This event, sponsored by the Oakland County Employment Diversity Council (OCEDC), will be conducted on Friday, June 20, from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the Oakland Schools Conference Center. Jenesys Group is an online marketing company and a Woman Business Enterprise. It is certified as a minority company. The summit will also feature a special civil rights presentation by historian and author Judith Levin Cantor. Her writings include "Jews in Michigan: Discovering the Peoples of Michigan"; "Letter from the Jewish Community," included in the Detroit 300 Tricentennial Time Capsule; and the "Michigan Jewry" entry in the Encyclopedia Judaica. Cantor has served as president of the Jewish Historical Society of Michigan. She also has served as a board member of Preservation Wayne, the Historical Society of Michigan, and the Michigan Women's Historical Center and Hall of Fame. In addition to the featured speakers, there will be an interactive panel discussion with Laurie Van Pelt, director of management & budget for Oakland County; Brenda Lawrence, mayor of the City of Southfield; and Elizabeth J. Carlson, president, management division of Beztak Properties.
