Nineteen land parcels being auctioned off by Natural Resources dept.

LANSING (AP) - Nineteen sections of land owned by the state of Michigan are on the auction block. The Department of Natural Resources is conducting a sealed-bid sale that runs through Aug. 7. The parcels are located in 11 counties and range from less than an acre to 80 acres. They vary in character and cover and may not have legal access. The DNR says prospective buyers should look into whether properties would be suitable for their intended uses. Minimum bids are expected to range from less than $1,000 to more than $90,000. Most of the properties were acquired by tax reversion while a few were purchased with other funding. The DNR says auction proceeds are added to a fund for buying recreation and resource land. -------- Online: http://www.michigan.gov/landforsale. Published: Wed, Jul 23, 2014
