PHOTO #1: The RISE committee of the Federal Bar Association, Eastern District of Michigan Chapter, presented “Speed Judging 2: Motion for Reconsideration” on Wednesday, March 11, at the Theodore Levin U.S. Courthouse in Detroit.  The event provided attorneys an opportunity to personally meet and mingle with multiple judicial officers in a regulated time frame.  Helping to coordinate the event were (front row, left to right) Katie Pullen of Warner, Norcross & Judd LLP; Bonsitu Kitaba of Dykema Gossett PLLC; Susan Asam of Dykema Gossett; Erin Behler of Nemeth Law PC; and Christian Ohanian of Dickinson Wright PLLC; along with (back row, left to right) Sean Cowley of the Office of the U.S. Trustee; Ben Sobczak of Dickinson Wright PLLC; and Nathan Dupes of Bodman PLLC.

PHOTO #2: U.S. District Court Judge Bernard A. Friedman (left) was happy to sit down with participants including (left to right) Zach Hallman, Sayeda Davidson, and Ryan Plecha.  For this event, each judicial officer was seated at a separate table and had an interaction of no more than three minutes with several attorneys after which time period the attorneys rotated to another table and interacted with another judicial officer.

PHOTO #3: U.S. District Court Judge Stephen J. Murphy III (right) chatted with (left to right) Tom Kelly, Lauren Saad, and Claudia Nicoli.  To facilitate interaction, each table had a bucket from which participants randomly drew “ice breaker” questions.
