Michigan Supreme Court Justice Richard Bernstein addressed Okemos Chippewa Middle School students in the Supreme Court courtroom in Lansing during the Friday, May 1, Law Day event. The Michigan Supreme Court Learning Center observed Law Day with tours, guest speakers, and related resources. Visitors from three local schools experienced a history play, a document lab with reproductions of Magna Carta, the U.S. Constitution and the Michigan constitution, a tour of exhibits highlighting rule of law and constitutional rights, and discussions led by members of the judiciary and other legal experts. Also on hand were MSC Chief of Staff and Clerk of Court Larry Royster and MSC General Counsel Joseph Baumann.
