Law Firm Challenge raises funds for school

Wayne State University Law School alumni working at Bodman PLC won the law school’s Law Firm Challenge by pledging the most money and having the most participation for the fundraiser to benefit the law school.

The Law Firm Challenge provides Wayne Law alumni who work at law firms an opportunity to reconnect with their alma mater and promote giving to the law school in a fun and challenging way. The competition ran from mid-May through mid-July.

Firms participating in the challenge competed for the highest percentage of alumni giving and the most dollars raised for the law school. Gifts and pledges made through the challenge support the programs and initiatives of the law school, in particular its annual and student scholarship funds.

First place – Bodman PLC raised $160,660 with 100 percent participation by the 42 Wayne Law alums who work there.

Second place – Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP raised $37,296 with 83 percent participation.

Third place – Clark Hill PLC raised $11,100 with 39 percent participation.

Honigman – Richard J. Burstein, class of 1969, and I.W. Winsten, class of 1979.
