Detroit museum plans 2016 round of outdoor art reproductions

DETROIT (AP) - The Detroit Institute of Arts is planning the 2016 edition of its annual program that installs artwork reproductions outdoors around the area.

The museum last week announced the list of communities participating in "Inside/Out," which will be in its seventh year.

Nine areas will be participating for the first time: Chesterfield Township; Lathrup Village; Springfield Township; Beverly Hills; Commerce Township; River Rouge; Ecorse; and the East English Village and Grandmont Rosedale neighborhoods in Detroit.

The first round will be on display from April to July. The second round is from August to October.

Among the displays, an installation is planned along the northern end of the Dequindre Cut to celebrate the expansion of the greenway. Another installation is planned at the Alger Theater in Detroit.
