Coney island, foundation host Winter Fest, Dec. 5

In the spirit of the season, families can enjoy an afternoon of holiday fun on Saturday, Dec. 5, at the 2015 Winter Fest presented by Leo's Coney Island and the Joe Socur Foundation for Children.

"We're very excited to give our customers the gift of a free holiday event for their families to experience together. It's also a wonderful opportunity to get out and support two great causes," said Christ Backos, Leo's Coney Island AddBack Restaurant Group owner.

Winter Fest activities will be held outdoors from 1 to 5 p.m. in the parking lot at the Leo's Coney Island location at 22 Mile and Hayes Roads in Shelby Township.

Children will enjoy a visit from Santa and his sleigh with live reindeer and Olaf and Elsa. Michigan's largest life-size snow globe will also be on hand. The snow globe is sixteen-foot tall, and allows families to step inside for a unique photo opportunity together.

For sports lovers, a silent auction featuring rare autographed sports memorabilia will be offered. This is a great chance to score a one of a kind gift for the sports fan on your holiday shopping list. All auction proceeds will benefit the Joe Kocur Foundation for Children.

Although all Winter Fest activities are free, guests are encouraged to bring a new unwrapped toy for the annual Leo's Coney Island Toys For Tots toy drive.

Leo's Coney Island is located at 48865 Hayes Road in Shelby Township.
