'Removing the Mysteries of Probate Court' seminar held in Southfield

On Thursday, May 5, the Citizens Alliance for the Oakland County Probate and Circuit Courts will be conducting another session of the free seminar titled “Removing the Mysteries of Probate Court” in conjunction with the Southfield Senior Adult Recreation Center 50+, from 1 to 3 p.m. This program is designed to enlighten and educate senior citizens and their families so that they may make informed decisions regarding their estate planning and understand the probate process. The Southfield Senior Adult Recreation Center is located at 26000 Civic Center Drive, Room 221-222, in Southfield.

The seminar will include topics such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney, and will provide useful information on how to begin probate proceedings, when to consider use of guardianships and conservatorships, and how “avoiding probate” could cause more harm than good.

Panelists will include Jill Koney Daly, probate register for the Oakland County Probate Court, and attorney Peter R. Tochman of Law Offices of Peter Tochman in Southfield.  Materials will be available and adequate time will be available for questions.

To register for this free seminar, contact the City of Southfield Senior Adult Recreation Center 248-796-4650.
