Firm's annual Law Day event returns June 4

On Saturday, June 4, Michigan’s biggest free legal aid clinic rolls out the red carpet with their annual family-friendly outdoor event.

The free event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Goodwin & Scieszka Law Center at 999 Haynes in Birmingham, just south of Maple (15 Mile) and east of Woodward behind Walgreens.

Founding partner Scott Goodwin says, “Some of the area’s top attorneys donate their time to help local families. It’s a great way to give back to our community.” Goodwin is immediate past president of the Michigan Association for Justice.

Law Day 2016 is celebrating 29 consecutive years. In that time they’ve donated 5,000 free legal consultations and 10,000 free bike helmets.

Thirty attorneys covering every area of law with free legal advice will be in attendance.

Prizes will be handed out, including Detroit Tigers tickets, four new bicycles, CDs, DVDs, and more.

Detroit Tigers mascot “PAWS” will be available from 1-3 p.m. for photos.

Free hot dogs, ice cream, live music, and giant inflatables for unlimited bouncing are among the attractions.

Radio personalities from WMUZ-FM and WEXL-AM will be broadcasting live.
