A special swearing in ceremony took place Sept. 8 in the  courtroom of Oakland County Probate Court Judge Elizabeth Pezzetti. Five students from the Auburn Hills campus of Western Michigan University Cooley Law School were sworn in on behalf of the Family Law Assistance Project, otherwise known as “FLAP.” The Family Law Assistance Project is a collaborative program between WMU-Cooley and Lakeshore Legal Aid, offering students the opportunity to represent low-income clients in family law and domestic violence matters. The students work under the supervision of a licensed attorney. Pictured are (left to right) Nikki Peterson, Alexandra Huntley, Wanda Roberts, Judge Pezzetti, Farah Hermiz, Jody Elliott, and WMU-Cooley Associate Professor Dustin Foster.
