A judicial candidate forum featuring the candidates for Oakland County 52-1 District Court was conducted Monday, Sept. 12, at the Wixom Community Center. Taking part in the forum were candidates Gary Klein and incumbent Judge David Law. The forum is the result of a partnership—now in its sixth judicial cycle—among the Oakland County Bar Association (OCBA), the League of Women Voters-Oakland Area, and the Detroit Free Press that aims to sponsor judicial candidate forums in all contested judicial races in Oakland County.

Helping to run the forum were Meg Alli of Ogletree Deakins and Detroit Free Press columnist Brian Dickerson; along with Lisa Hamameh of Foster, Swift, Collins, & Smith PC; and OCBA President David Anderson of Collins, Einhorn, Farrell PC.  The forum was open to the public and was video recorded so that it may be aired on local cable channels. As soon as the recording is available, it is loaded on the OCBA’s YouTube page at http://bit.ly/OCBAYouTube.  Additionally, all candidates have been asked to complete a Judicial Candidate Questionnaire. The completed questionnaires are available on the OCBA website at www.ocba.org/judicial-candidate-forum/.
