Probate court offers free seminar in Royal Oak

On Friday, Nov.18, the Citizens Alliance for the Oakland County Probate and Circuit Courts will be conducting their last free seminar of the year titled Removing the Mysteries of Probate Court at the Royal Oak Senior Center, 3500 Marais in Royal Oak, from 1 to 3 p.m.  This program is designed to enlighten and educate senior citizens and their families so that they may make informed decisions regarding their estate planning and understand the probate process.

The seminar will include topics such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney, and provides useful information on how to begin probate proceedings, when to consider use of guardianships and conservatorships, and how “avoiding probate” could cause more harm than good.

Panelists will include Jill Koney Daly, probate register for the Oakland County Probate Court, and attorney Michael P. Witzke from McDonald Hopkins PLC in Bloomfield Hills.  Materials will be available and adequate time will be available for questions.

To register for this free seminar, contact the Royal Oak Senior Center at  248-246-3900.
