Women's Bar Association conducts annual dinner

PHOTO #1: The Women’s Bar Association, Oakland County region of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, conducted its Annual Meeting on Thursday, May 11, at the Birmingham Athletic Club. On hand for the event were board members (left to right) Channelle Kizy-White of Channelle Kizy PLLC, Katherine Pacynski of The Dobrusin Law Firm PC, Erin Klug of Varnum LLP, Tanya Lundberg of University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, Erin Flynn of Kelly & Kelly PC, Silvia Mansoor of Dean & Fulkerson PC, and Kristen Pursley of The Dobrusin Law Firm PC.

PHOTO #2: The WBA also presented awards during the evening.  The Evelyn Forrest Distinguished Advocate Award went to former U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade (front, left) and the Joan Young Judicial Excellence Award went to retired Oakland County Probate Court Judge Elizabeth Pezzetti (front, right).  Happy to congratulate the honorees were (back, left to right) Erin Klug and Kristen Pursley.  In addition, the WBA presented its first Sarah Kilgore Wertman Scholarship to University of Detroit Mercy School of Law student Michelle Shember (not pictured).  The scholarship is named after Wertman who is the first woman to graduate from law school and be admitted to the bar in Michigan.
