A host of golfers turned out September 11 for the third annual America Thanks Our Troops (ATOT) invitational at the Links of Crystal Lake in Pontiac. The fund-raising event was spearheaded by golf committee members Mike Schloff, Kristina Derro, and Jim Zellen, who served as chair of the outing. Other committee members included Jay Cunningham, William Lynch, and Jeff Butler. ATOT is a nonprofit organization formed “to support our overseas deployed troops,” according to Zellen. “Since its inception, the Oakland County Bar Association Veterans Bar Committee has raised tens of thousands of dollars and has purchased non-perishable food and personal items for thousands of our servicemen and women who have been deployed in remote areas of the world where they do not have access to BXs or PXs,” Zellen said.
